The winner of the March 2011 VoicesNet Writing Contest is "The Look of the Rain", a short story by Yannis Apostolos Politopoulos of Greece.

Into the breath

Into the air
a poem reads her look

Into the sea
a kiss writes her feeling

In the fire
a look loves her kiss

Into the memory
a fairytale travels his smile

Into the arm
a dream carries his silence

Into the smile
a starlight remembers his poem

Until the beginning of non beginning

  1. Dear dear Mr. Yannis

What a delight to read your words of friendship and wisdom! Your insight into my life and dreams is very encouraging and helpful. I like to think of myself as a historian. I am an observer of events that I witness and I will speak the truth of what happened under God's omnipresent gaze. I am a messenger to the rest of people on what happened on the other side. I am a photon particle that hits your eyes and speaks only of truth and light. I hope God the historian is on my side.

  2. And thank you for your advice - I will remember the first creations and the loving gaze with which my father looks at my mother.

    Greetings from NJ
