The winner of the March 2011 VoicesNet Writing Contest is "The Look of the Rain", a short story by Yannis Apostolos Politopoulos of Greece.

The uniqueness

A poor dream
running on my lips

Is a sense of
genuine sympathy

I am talking about  people
that i am thinking of everyday

Versions of their souls
I see in their posts

Then a sense of art
is smiling at my look

How many hospitable roofs I own to the
electronic houses of my friends

And look, with my hand
I type their soul

From Canada to Australia
and from Finland to India
my words become  kisses
and honor my friends

Because all those who read my soul
are walking by the seaside that celebrates
what themselves love

That's why every day with joy
I teach all of them to my students

Thank you my friends

  2. The title of a pair trousers is beautiful, and the poem, love it. Graham Nash is superb.

  3. Yannis, it's amazing how we can connect with our friends around the world, those we've never met in person yet feel some connection to. And a great choice for the music in this post - I was lucky enough to see Crosby, Stills & Nash perform at the famous Red Rocks amphitheater outside Denver many years ago.

  4. People come and go, but you are really special, and this is a really special place, like a nice place to drink tea. A special place in the jungle megapolis that is the internet.
