The winner of the March 2011 VoicesNet Writing Contest is "The Look of the Rain", a short story by Yannis Apostolos Politopoulos of Greece.

Summer pure love

The boy from Finland
plunged into the blue sea

The girl from Italy
walked in the hot sand

And when their looks met
a whole new world was born

With their first look
thousands of kilometers were forgotten

And immediately began the union
to travel to the Mediterranean sea

Because is it so simple and pure
for children to be joined together

But what happens to people growing up?

Fortunately there will always be children!

  1. Nice. But Yannis, something on your blog (probably a widget) is causing constant redirects of my browser (Firefox) to adware/malware sites, and it's specifically when I load your blog.

  2. Young love, the innocence of children is beautiful, we must try to hold onto the wonder as we become adults as there is still so much beauty in the world to hold in awe.
Lovey words dear Yannis, you have a romantic soul.
    xoxoxo ♡

  3. Lieber Yannis,

deine Worte sollten die Welt aufrütteln. Ja.

  4. Really you are romantic person. Your poems of love are very beautiful and sensitive.
